§ 22-67. Findings; penalties.

  • (a)

    Findings. The county quorum court has found that and determined that an emergency exists in that the removal, destruction, damaging and defacing of county road signs and street signs has become widespread, thereby hindering the operation of law enforcement personnel, fire department personnel, emergency medical service personnel and other essential government functions necessary for the health, welfare and safety of the citizens and residents of the county.

    (b)

    Penalties. It shall be unlawful for any person to remove, damage, deface or destroy any county road sign or street sign. Upon conviction of such an offense, a fine of not less than $500.00 and a term in the county jail of not less than one day or more than seven days shall be imposed by the court. No part of the sentence imposed hereunder shall be suspended or taken under advisement.
